Front Derailleur Adjustment

Drivetrain issues can range anywhere from annoying sounds to an unsafe bike. Keeping your front derailleur adjusted properly will lead to smooth and crisp shifting, letting you enjoy your ride without worry.

Remember these steps:

  1. Adjust the derailleur cage to ~3mm above the teeth on your largest chainring.
  2. Set the low and high limit screws so you can’t overshift, dropping your chain.
  3. Fine tune the shifting with proper cable tension and barrel adjusters.

Front derailluers are a simple yet important part of your bike. Take a few minutes and make sure your drivetrain is functioning properly: your bike will thank you!
